A Better Grip

For the longest,
I thought something was wrong.
Now I see.
I'm not a weakling.
The strongest Christian is holding on
Just like me.

In a crowded room ...
Can you separate saint from the sinner?

They both have got intelligence
The saint has got a better grip.
Although at times his mind may slip,
He keeps holding on to something higher.

I'm left with wings and prayers.
Renew my strength like eagles
So I can leave this hotel California.

To occupy my residence
Ambassadors aren't residents.
Been sending home dead presidents
Since I lost everything one Sunday morning.

Like Wheat

Why you trying to distract me,
Now that you can't have me;
Is that the best you can do?

Pitched fork used for winnowing
Long as I'm not sinning
your just getting me ready for harvest.

The mystery was my misery
Watched as you sifted me.
But now I just laugh
As the chaff disappears.

Greet Your Body

Reaffirm relationships with the words you use
To greet those who are more than strangers.

Hello friend,
Brother,
Sister,
Hello neighbor.

Don't give enmity a foothold
For doubts or preconceived deception.

Repetition is the cartilage between the bones
Of the Body of Jesus.

Ephesians 4
Make every effort to keep the unity
of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
There is one body and one Spirit...

Stranger Danger

What it feels like to lose ...

Somebody's past was tense.
Now I'm left with the dreams of the lost.
But you're still living.

That's what makes the hurt even worse.

Disconnected from the familiar
The familia.
Prodigal is a pretty strong word
Perhaps it sounds like a curse.

Does it arrest your attention?
Perhaps if I speak in Spanish or German you'll listen.
Aviso, Achtung!

Trading in safety
Trading in friends
In exchange for a little fun.

Stranger danger.

I wonder which will come first,
Pride or Fall?
The serpent was the most beautiful angel of all.
Independence often taste like apples.

Ever notice anger looks a lot like danger?

The Imperfect Man for the Job

God used an outspoken, polished, vindictive Roman citizen
to travel to the nations.

Fluent in Greek yet speaking with Hebraic precision.
Academic knowledge of the ways of Moses.
Descendant of Benjamin
Mentioned in Philippians three
Verse six.

You made me LOL when you said your legalism was "faultless".

New mission, was to teach them:
Legal righteousness is only surpassed by knowing Christ Jesus.
Faith allows the Lord to be your personal Leader,
Personal Trainer
Rabbi / Teacher

Now enrolling students for the second semester -- of life.

In the third chapter of a letter to Corinth
I learned "The Lord is the Spirit".
Therefore, I must be Spirit led.

If faith has no oxygen, righteousness is short lived.

Israeli Pharisee Emeritus
Saw old glory fade in comparison.
Now everything he amassed was considered nothing.

If Paul still had the temple keys
He would've pawned off the Arc of the Covenant.
In exchange for the surpassing new one.

The Audience

Music without conformance
Poetry without performance
Enjoyment is a benefit
When the audience is One.

Don't always go where crowds have been
Pursue the mysteries of heaven.
Traveling to all nations,
Be sure and leave behind some breadcrumbs.

Trail blaze.
Path pave.
A life well lived is disciplined.
The more I know the language of Love
The less truth seems so foreign.

Preemptive Strike

Stepping out in faith often makes even the seasoned believer feel less than comfortable. However, the secret Satan doesn't want you to know is "stepping out" makes him less comfy too. When we rearrange our short term and long term plans to push against idleness, fear and doubt we oppose earthly rule, its ruler and principalities. It may feel like walking in big shoes, but putting our weakness in God's perfect strength allows us to participate in a preemptive strike against the enemy.

After Paul describes the warrior gear, he instructs us to: "pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty" (Ephesians 6:18 AMP). I like Paul's "ALLs". They affirm that we have a limitless supply of prayers in our arsenal. When we are equipped by The Infinite our adversary the devil can be shifted from his typical offenses to a defensive posture. However, this will only happen if we are:

First: Covered in full armor
Second: Reloading from the infinite supply
Third: Firing "all" types of prayers at "all" times.

Free to Choose

Free to give
Free to live
Free to let them choose.

Connect them to "O" positive
And shake dust off my shoes.
If they refuse -- to listen.

I've gotta care more about you,
than my feelings.
More about life,
than rejection.

Sometimes egos look like prisons
Protecting from offenders
But keeping our dreams locked in.

I write that they might know Him.
Know Him like He knows me.
The One who always listens.
The One who also speaks.

Maiden Voyage - The Living Sea

I've read and heard that the Dead Sea is dead because water flows in but does not pour out. Similarly, Christians are challenged not to become mini Dead Seas.

Otherwise we are full of wisdom but not sharing. Spiritually stout, but not letting our gifts flow.
Holding or worse yet burying our talents.

For the past two years I have been on stage ministering through spoken word. However, there is so much more written word that I am called to share with my brothers and sisters. Therefore, I launch this blog for those who know and love God but also for those who are seeking to know Him.

These entries are written by one but authored by three:
God the Father
Jesus the Son
Holy Spirit (a.k.a. My Comforter).

Come back soon and bask in the Living Sea.
